As i sit here studying for my earth science test on thursday, i have read carbon dioxide from fossil fuels harms the atmosphere. What I cannot understand how people continue to argue that is not harmful and that scientists are overreacting and spreading lies. It cannot be a lie if people continue to prove its validity. It infuriates me when people call research into new energy products a waste of time and money, its your future be smart about it.

In this world we live in, everything requires a little give and take. Everything has its pros and cons which favor to a particular party. According to your post, fossil fuels harm the environment, but a lot of the things we do as a civilization harm the environment as well. Alternative energy sources are exactly what they are, alternative sources. In order for them to be useful people have to actually want to use them but even the ones listed on the website have negative effects. For instance, water dams mess with the biodiversity of aquatic life forms, and are not 100% stable. They have to maintained occasionally to ensure they do not break and cause extreme damage. Everything we do has both a negative and positive affect on either the people or the environment; sometimes we have to choose whose needs are greater because not everyone can be satisfied.
